Music Programs are seriously cut!

The Castro Valley School Board is  seriously cutting Music Programs. The approved pending budget includes:

• Lay off 25% of the Music Teachers - a deeper cut than any other academic department.
  

• Conditionally, lay off an additional music teacher depending on state legislative action. Hence, the School Board potentially will cut our music programs by nearly 50% !!!
  

• Eliminate the 7-period day at the High School.

Thursday May 28, 2009 7:00 PM  Board Office  4400 Alma Ave.	MPS presents online petition to the board. The public will be allowed to speak to the board. Please come to the meeting to show your support for Music Programs. MPS is asking the board to keep our Music Programs in tact and to retain the 7th period at the high school
Friday June 5, 2009 6:00 PM Paradiso at Willow Park	Putting on the Ritz The Castro Valley High School Jazz AllStars and Lab Jazz Bands present their 2nd Dinner and Dance event.
